As a Lead Developer for OpenET, Will helps steer the development and strategic direction of the project’s technological initiatives, leveraging his robust background as a NASA software engineer. He oversees key platforms—including the Data Explorer, API, and FARMS—to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance, scalability, and reliability, while also architecting and sustaining the project’s cloud infrastructure for optimal efficiency, security, and growth. In collaboration with the scientific modeling team and project scientists, Will ensures the accurate implementation of the SIMS ET model, develops customized solutions for large-scale data extractions tailored to specific research parameters, and provides expert guidance on hyperspectral data applications.
