Dr. A.J. Purdy

Senior Research Scientist, CSUMB-NASA Ames Research Center

A.J. Purdy is a Research Scientist and Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Applied Environmental Science at California State University, Monterey Bay, and at NASA Ames Research Center through the NASA ARC-CREST partnership. His research integrates field measurements, remote sensing, and modeling to quantify consumptive water use, evaluate changes in water availability and cycling, and advance the understanding and management of water resources. Dr. Purdy has contributed to the development of the SIMS and PT-JPL models and has previously served as a subject matter expert for the NASA Western Water Applications Office. His work has leveraged data from multiple NASA satellite missions, including Landsat, MODIS, OCO-2, SMAP, GRACE, and ECOSTRESS.  (Ph.D., University of California, Irvine; M.S., California State University, Monterey Bay).
